Who is responsible

Schnee Labs GmbH, Nordweg 8, 3013 Bern, Switzerland. Questions and requests about your data: [email protected].

What we process

  • When you visit: IP address, browser and the pages you open, to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.
  • With an account: email address, password (only as a hash), optionally your name and home address, your routes, photos and questions to the hike assistant.
  • With Go Wandr Pro: your subscription at Stripe. You enter payment details directly with Stripe; we never see them.
  • Newsletter and feedback: your email address and your message.

Analytics and cookies

We run Matomo on our own server to understand how Go Wandr is used: the pages you open, where you came from and whether someone buys Pro. IP addresses are shortened. If you are signed in, we link your visits to your account id. When you buy, we tell Stripe which page you came through.

We also use Microsoft Clarity. Clarity records how pages are used (mouse movement, clicks, scrolling) and turns this into heatmaps and session recordings. What you type into form fields is masked. The data is stored by Microsoft, including in the USA.

Cookies and local storage keep you signed in, remember your language and settings, and serve analytics. On your first visit we ask whether we may analyse your visit. Clarity only sets cookies once you agree; if you decline, neither Matomo nor Clarity runs. You can change your choice here at any time; with “Do Not Track” analytics does not run at all.

Service providers

Go Wandr is hosted by Infomaniak in Switzerland. We also use Cloudflare (network and storage), Microsoft (Clarity, usage analytics), Stripe (payments), OpenAI (hike assistant and route descriptions, without your name or email), Postmark (newsletter), Telegram (internal notifications, e.g. about new accounts and questions to the assistant), and map, weather and timetable services. Some of them are based in the USA; there we rely on the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses.

Your rights

We keep data as long as your account exists or the law requires. You can ask at any time for access to, correction, deletion or a copy of your data: [email protected]. If you disagree with our answer, you can contact the Swiss FDPIC.
