Chemin des villages et hameaux d'Entremont

Splendid hike across the sunny slopes of the Val d'Entremont. The trail leads through well-preserved villages with traditional architecture and historical charm, accompanied by a wonderful view of the valley and the Mont Blanc massif.

From the Liddes bus stop, the yellow-marked hiking trail leaves the village and climbs across open meadows to Chandonne. The Chapelle de Chandonne stands directly beside the route. The ascent then continues across pastures. After around four kilometres, the highest point is reached near Mont Brûlé at just over 1,640 metres.

The route now heads down into the valley. It leads to Commeire and continues on a steady descent to Reppaz, alternating between open terrain and sections of woodland. Via La Rosière, the trail continues to lose altitude; overall, the approximately 420 metres of ascent are offset by around 900 metres of descent. The hiking trail remains easy to follow all the way to the end.

The final section descends through the forest to Chamoille d’Orsières and the first houses of La Douay. After around four hours and 14 kilometres, the hike ends at the La Douay bus stop.
