Circuito di Lodano

This trail connects the picturesque Ticino villages of Lodano and Maggia. It runs across fields, through lush forests and past vineyards and small, typical stone houses. You keep catching a glimpse of the crystal blue Maggia River, which winds through the Maggia Valley surrounded by striking peaks.

This short route across the flat valley floor begins at the Lodano bus stop. Initially, a waymarked hiking trail leads through the surroundings of the village. The route then crosses open meadows and pastures before later entering woodland. The modest elevation gain defines the walk: the trail climbs only gently to its highest point at Al Runch di Mött, at around 370 m. However, the longer middle section lies outside the waymarked hiking trail network, making good navigation essential.

Towards the end, the houses become more frequent. The trail leads via In Bagnadüü to Moghegno and continues towards Maggia. After a short descent, the walk reaches its lowest section before arriving at the destination in the village. A little over an hour should be allowed for the roughly five kilometres. The Maggia, centro bus stop is located right by the endpoint, ensuring a straightforward finish.
