Tour des Alpes Vaudoises, Stage 5/8

This long leg passes through through the La Pierreuse nature conservation area and leads to the gorgeous Arnesee reservoir. The route boasts fantastic views of the Gummfluh massif and the Diablerets massif.

From the L’Etivaz, Maison de L’Etivaz bus stop, the long ascent out of the village begins. The hiking trail initially leads through forest and across open pastures, before the mountain trail climbs more steeply towards Fenêtre d’Arnon. Beyond the pass, the route descends to Arnensee, a reservoir at around 1'540 m.

From the lake, the route climbs again, partly along a narrower mountain trail through open alpine pasture. Shortly after the Col de Voré, the hike reaches its highest point at around 1'920 m near Seeberghore. This is followed by the descent to Lac Retaud, whose shore the trail skirts, and onwards to the Col du Pillon.

From the pass, a longer descent leads through pastures and forest into the Grande Eau valley. Towards the end, the route follows the stream, passes the La Marmotte restaurant and reaches the first houses of Les Diablerets. Shortly afterwards, the hike ends directly at Les Diablerets railway station.
