01/ Overview
The route
Across meadows and through long stretches of forest, the route leads to Drachenflue. At the Zingelkreuz, the view extends across the Drachenried to the Alpnachersee.
The ascent begins at the St. Jakob bus stop, crossing meadows and pastures. After a possible detour to the Drachenried-Lädeli, the route climbs higher via Gruebli and Ebnet. The forest soon takes over, with a long, shady stretch passing Rütli and continuing into the Hinterbergwald.
At Zingel, the view opens up across the Drachenried to the Alpnachersee. The Zingelkreuz stands at a scenic spot associated with the dragon legend of Zingel. Shortly afterwards, the trail reaches its highest point at Drachenflue, at around 850 metres. The mountain trail then becomes steeper and plunges back into the forest.
The route descends via Drachenried and Neumatt to the houses of Betti. The final stretch leads to Allweg, where the Überfalldenkmal commemorates the French invasion of 1798. The Ennetmoos, Allweg bus stop is just a few steps from the end of the route.

How we check: Every night we match the route against the official closures and detours from the Federal Roads Office (FEDRO). Any reported closure that touches the route shows up here.
How we check: We look up a live public transport connection from your starting point to the stop closest to the trailhead. If it ends further away, the nearest stop may be a cable car or bus that isn't running right now.
How we check: Snow depth estimated daily at the lowest and the highest point of the route. Estimates: check the situation on site.
