Flüeli offers magnificent views. The varied and pleasant route runs along the shores of Lake Sarnen and Lake Lungern and, from the Lungern church, the Brünig-Saumweg archaeology theme trail, which has been used as a pilgrimage route for a long time.

From the Flüeli-Ranft, Dorf bus stop, the hiking trail leads through Flüeli-Ranft and past the Chapel of St Charles Borromeo. The village chapel dates from 1618. The route then descends to Sachseln. The Church of St Theodul also serves as a pilgrimage church dedicated to Brother Klaus and was consecrated in 1684.

At Ewil, the route reaches Sarnersee and runs directly along the water for a short stretch. It continues between meadows and woodland to Giswil, initially following the Kleine Melchaa and later the Laui. It then leads via Sommerweid and Bürglen to Lungerersee, a natural reservoir in the Sarneraatal valley.

The long final ascent begins in Obsee. The hiking trail climbs through open countryside and woodland to the Brünigpass. At the destination, the route reaches its highest point at around 1'000 m and ends at the Brünig-Hasliberg stop.
