Chemin des Bisses, Stage 6/7

After Nax, there are several water channels next to the path. Along the slope, the trail enters into the Val de Réchy. At the point where the Bisse de Vercorin draws its water, the trail turns and continues through forests and over alps. The stage ends in Vercorin with its historic village centre built around the church.

The approximately 17-kilometre hike to Vercorin begins at the Nax, centre bus stop. The yellow-waymarked trail leaves the village and descends through forest and across open meadows to Daillet. This is followed by a longer ascent that sets the quiet, wooded character of the route.

At Restaurant La Lé, the path meets the Bisse de Vercorin. Shortly afterwards, near La Brinta, the hike reaches its highest point at around 1,660 metres. For a good three kilometres, the water channel accompanies the route through the forest. A picnic area lies directly beside the trail along the way.

Over the final kilometres, stretches of forest alternate with open terrain. With around 760 metres of ascent and almost as much descent, the hike requires stamina despite the easy paths. After just over five hours, it reaches Vercorin, where the Vercorin, poste bus stop is only a few steps from the finishing point.
