The route
This idyllic winter hike leads between the tall fir trees of the Franches-Montagnes from Le Noirmont station to Le Creux-des-Biches. The easy tour across the vast plateau of the Franches-Montagnes is ideal for beginners.
The winter hike begins at the Le Noirmont stop in the heart of the village. After just a few steps, the path leaves the houses behind. It initially descends gently, then gradually climbs across open meadows and pastures. Woodland plays little part on this short route; open terrain defines the scenery.
Around halfway, the Auberge du Peu-PĂ©quignot lies close to the path. From there, the gentle ascent continues without any major changes in elevation: over three kilometres, the route gains around 70 metres. Just under an hour should be allowed for the entire walk. Le Creux-des-Biches is reached at the end of the gentle ascent. At around 1,010 m, this is also the highest point of the winter hike. From the finish, it is just under 200 m to the stop of the same name.
