01/ Overview
The route
The circular trail brings the history of the Heinzenberg landslides to life. With stunning views of Piz Beverin and the Safien valley, various stops along the way offer insight into a unique landscape that has been shaped by both nature and man.
The starting point at Tschappina, Glaspass is not directly served by public transport; the nearest stop, Tschappina, Abzw. Bruneir, is around 700 m away. From the pass, the mountain trail leads past Pizzeria da Franco and climbs through largely open meadows and pastures. Around the Glaspass, also known as Tavellas in Romansh, the houses are left behind. The eight-kilometre circuit involves around 480 metres of ascent.
Just over halfway, the route reaches its highest point near Hoch Büel at around 2'120 m. The trail then descends again, crossing open terrain to Lüschersee and running right along its shore. From the lake, the route climbs briefly once more before returning across the alpine pastures to the starting point. After around eight kilometres and a little over two and a half hours, the hike ends back at Tschappina, Glaspass.
