01/ Overview
The route
The area's most beautiful and delightful hike over the mountain ridge that links the Heinzenberg with the Safien valley. The view of the two valleys is superb.
The 15-kilometre hike starts directly at Glaspass, by the Tschappina, Glaspass bus stop. The mountain trail climbs across open meadows and alpine pastures, while Lüschersee lies slightly off the route. After just over an hour, the trail passes Alp Lüsch and continues close to Pascuminersee to Bischolapass. Beyond the pass, the broad Heinzenberg ridge dominates the scenery.
The ascent continues to Tguma, the highest point of the hike at around 2,160 m. From the Heinzenberg side, the summit resembles a gentle grassy hill, while towards Safiental it falls away more steeply over rocky slopes. In a steady succession of ups and downs, the mountain trail follows the open ridge to Präzer Höhi at 2,120 m. The long descent now begins, initially across pastures and later down to the first houses of Präz. After just over five hours, the hike ends in the village; the Präz, Dorf bus stop is only a few steps away.
