01/ Overview
The route
The third leg leads to Turrahus via the Camaner Hütta cabins. This route provides fine examples of scattered settlements, which are still the main form of inhabitation here to this day. In Thalkirch, it is worth stopping to take a look inside the lovely church.
From the Safien Platz stop, the mountain trail leaves the village and soon climbs steeply. Meadows and pastures initially dominate the scenery, interspersed with stretches of woodland that lend a quieter setting to the long ascent. After a good hour, the route passes Hotel Camana and shortly afterwards reaches the houses of Camanaboda.
Above the hamlet, the ascent continues through open terrain. Around halfway along the route, the hike reaches its highest point at just over 1,960 metres. By this point, most of the total ascent of around 780 metres has been completed. The trail then turns downhill, leading across pastures and through woodland towards Thalkirch.
In Thalkirch, the trail passes directly by the listed Reformed church. Its cemetery is enclosed by an exposed-stone wall. The final few kilometres continue to Safien (Turrahus). After eleven kilometres and just under four hours, the hike ends at the Thalkirch, Turrahus stop.

How we check: We look up a live public transport connection from your starting point to the stop closest to the trailhead. If it ends further away, the nearest stop may be a cable car or bus that isn't running right now.
