01/ Overview
The route
The historical path starting in chellenberg takes you past the cradle of Liechtenstein and to the prehistoric settlement of the Lutzegütle and Malanser. In addition to the historical review, the far-reaching view in the direction of the Alpstein is just as enticing.
The circular hike begins in Schellenberg, away from direct public transport links. The nearest stop, Sennwald, Hof, is around 3 km away. Initially, the waymarked hiking trail descends through wooded terrain. After just over 2 km, the route reaches its lowest point. The elevation profile then changes: the trail climbs again, continuing mostly through woodland.
In the second half, the landscape becomes more open. Meadows and pastures line the longer ascent, which gains around 480 metres in total. Near Bergli, the route reaches its highest point at just under 700 m. Most of the climbing is now complete. The return route to Schellenberg descends again, completing the approximately 11 km circuit. Just over three hours should be allowed for the entire hike.

03/ Conditions
Current conditions
What to know before you set off. Closures and snow are re-checked every day.
How we check: Every night we match the route against the official closures and detours from the Federal Roads Office (FEDRO). Any reported closure that touches the route shows up here.
How we check: SLF only publishes its snow maps from November 1. Until then we roughly estimate the snow depth at the lowest and the highest point of the route every day from the nearest SLF measuring stations. Check the situation on site.
