01/ Overview
The route
Eight information stations, broad meadows and peaceful stretches of woodland characterise this pram-friendly circuit across the Lindenberg. Along the way, barbecue sites and the Hofbeizli Holzmatt offer inviting places to stop for a break.
The Lindenberg Educational Trail begins directly at the Müswangen, Dorf bus stop. Close to the starting point, the Landgasthof Linde provides the first opportunity for refreshments. The pram-friendly circuit then leads out of the village into the open countryside of the Lindenberg. Eight stations explain how the ridge was formed and how the natural environment and cultivated land are managed.
The route climbs gently across meadows and pastures towards Horben. Schloss Horben lies around 400 m off the route; it was built at the beginning of the 18th century as a summer residence for the monks of Muri. On the ridge, the trail reaches its highest point near Lindenberg at around 860 m before turning towards the forest.
Further on, open terrain alternates with stretches of woodland. Several barbecue sites lie along the circuit, and at Holzmatt it passes directly by the Hofbeizli. Towards the end, the trail descends gently to the houses of Müswangen. Shortly before the village centre, it passes the Sagikanal playground and, after just over two hours, ends back at the Müswangen, Dorf bus stop.

What to know before you set off. Closures and snow are re-checked every day.
How we check: Every night we match the route against the official closures and detours from the Federal Roads Office (FEDRO). Any reported closure that touches the route shows up here.
How we check: We look up a live public transport connection from your starting point to the stop closest to the trailhead. If it ends further away, the nearest stop may be a cable car or bus that isn't running right now.
How we check: Snow depth estimated daily at the lowest and the highest point of the route. Estimates: check the situation on site.
