Moosalp Panoramaweg

If you don't know Moosalp yet, the panorama trail is the perfect way to catch up. The "Stand" is one of the region's beacons: the highest point on the plateau offers a magnificent panoramic view of the entire Upper Valais and twelve four-thousand-metre peaks.

It is only a few steps from the Moosalp bus stop to the starting point at Chalte Brunne. Just under two hours should be allowed for the six-kilometre circuit. The yellow-waymarked hiking trail initially runs through forest, gently losing height. Beyond the lowest point, the terrain becomes increasingly open, with meadows and pastures replacing the shady stretches of woodland.

The circuit sweeps in a broad arc to Breitmattensee, which lies directly beside the trail. The main ascent then begins, leading to the highest point at just over 2,100 m, near Goldbiel. The summit itself lies slightly off the route.

Shortly afterwards, the trail reaches the Stand viewpoint. From there, the final descent begins, initially across open terrain and then once again among trees. After around six kilometres, the circuit closes at Chalte Brunne, with the Moosalp bus stop right beside it.
