01/ Overview
The route
Dive into the specially created «Magical Water» experience: this easy trail with various stations and elements promises fun and relaxation for the whole family along the parallel irrigation channels of Eggeri and Chilcheri.
From the Grächen, Zentrum bus stop, it is only a few steps to the starting point in the village. The circuit begins between the church and the houses and soon enters the forest. The wide hiking trail initially descends to the lowest part of the route before passing the small hamlet of Bargji.
Forest dominates for long stretches. After a good six kilometres, the trail narrows and, now a mountain trail, climbs more noticeably. Near the mountain lake Zum See, a short section leaves the marked hiking network before rejoining a hiking trail. Alternating between forest and open pastures, it climbs to the highest point at around 1,830 m in the vicinity of the Grathorn.
The trail then descends to Gasenried. Passing the first houses and heading through forest once more, the circuit leads back to Grächen. Towards the end, the settlement becomes denser; with the church and village centre in view, the hike finishes once again near the Grächen, Zentrum bus stop.
