01/ Overview
The route
This route starts in the lakeside town of Neuchâtel at the well-known Place Pury and leads to the Piscine du Nid-du-Crô swimming complex. The vibrant metropolis of Canton Neuenburg is combines natural beauty with a permanent holiday atmosphere.
A short urban walk to the lake begins at the Neuchâtel, Place Pury stop. The route passes through the lively centre towards the harbour, where it runs alongside Le Quai du Port. After around one kilometre, Lake Neuchâtel lies directly beside the route. It is the largest lake located entirely within Switzerland.
The route now follows the lakeshore. The waymarked hiking trail runs almost level through open green spaces and Neuchâtel’s urban surroundings. There are no significant climbs; the highest point is at the start, at around 430 m. Towards the end, the route passes Brasserie V at the Cercle de la Voile. After around three kilometres and just under an hour, the walk ends at the Neuchâtel, Piscines stop.

What to know before you set off. Closures and snow are re-checked every day.
How we check: Every night we match the route against the official closures and detours from the Federal Roads Office (FEDRO). Any reported closure that touches the route shows up here.
How we check: SLF only publishes its snow maps from November 1. Until then we roughly estimate the snow depth at the lowest and the highest point of the route every day from the nearest SLF measuring stations. Check the situation on site.
