Sentier Panorama 4000

Panoramic hike above Crans-Montana. The main attraction: the magnificent view of the 4000-metre mountain range and the Rhone valley. Another scenic highlight is the section in the Tièche valley.

The hike begins at the Cry-d’Er stop, high above Crans-Montana. Initially, a mountain trail leads through open, increasingly rocky terrain. The route remains at altitude and continues to climb, with a few short uphill sections. Along the way, barren slopes and broad alpine pastures shape the scenery; the Cabane des Violettes lies slightly off the route. After roughly half the distance, the highest point is reached near Petit Mont Bonvin at around 2,400 m.

The trail now turns downhill. For long stretches it remains a narrow mountain trail before becoming an easier hiking trail. The long descent leaves the rocky terrain behind, crossing open meadows on the way down to Aminona. Shortly before the destination, the route passes the Restaurant du Centre d’Accueil d’Aminona. After around 14 kilometres and just under four and a half hours, the hike ends near the Aminona stop.
