01/ Overview
The route
This spectacular route shows the great diversity of the Valais within a compact area. Culture, history, impressive mountains, canyons, old irrigation channels, a charming winegrowing region and natural landscape – explore all this by crossing the Raspille river and the German-French language border.
The hike of around eleven kilometres begins at the Inden, Dorf bus stop. The path leaves the village and climbs gradually via Rumeling. Woodland characterises this first section, interspersed with open meadows that add variety. After around two and a half kilometres, the highest point is reached near Jägerchrüz at approximately 1,140 m. This means that the main ascent is already complete.
The route now turns downhill. Shady stretches of woodland alternate with open terrain on well-maintained, yellow-waymarked hiking trails. The long descent defines the character of the hike but remains steady, leading towards the destination without any significant counter-climbs. Towards the end, the houses of Miège draw closer. The path passes the church and ends shortly afterwards at the Miège, église bus stop. Just over three hours should be allowed for the entire route.

Current conditions
What to know before you set off. Closures and snow are re-checked every day.
How we check: Every night we match the route against the official closures and detours from the Federal Roads Office (FEDRO). Any reported closure that touches the route shows up here.
How we check: SLF only publishes its snow maps from November 1. Until then we roughly estimate the snow depth at the lowest and the highest point of the route every day from the nearest SLF measuring stations. Check the situation on site.
