Splendid views of the ruggedness of the Hinterberg, protected moorland at Chapfensee, the sparse and arid Kleinberg, touristic Flumserberg, Mediterranean Quinten, power and peace in the hotspot of Amden.

From Bad Ragaz railway station, the trail leads out of the village, passing close to Freudenberg Castle before entering wooded slopes. Meadows, pastures and forest then alternate. The long first ascent reaches the highest point of the route near Garmil, at around 1,230 metres. The trail continues via Vermol to Chapfensee.

The trail runs directly along the small reservoir before continuing through the Sarganserland in a long succession of ascents and descents. Open sections repeatedly reveal views across the valley slopes, while longer stretches of forest provide shade in between. Via Oberterzen and Quarten, the route finally descends to Murg on the shore of Walensee.

The character of the route now changes. A mountain trail traverses the steep northern side of the lake and reaches Quinten with the Chapel of St Bernhard. At Betlis, the view opens up towards the Seerenbach Falls, whose three tiers measure around 600 metres in total. The final section once again follows a marked hiking trail to Amden. After a good 18½ hours and around 53 kilometres, this endurance tour ends at the Amden, Dorf bus stop.
