01/ Overview
The route
Snow-covered landscapes, tranquillity and an impressive natural experience: explore the gently rolling hills between Wasserfallen and the Passwang region in splendid style with a pair of snowshoes.
The approximately three-kilometre snowshoe circuit begins at Wasserfallen mountain station, immediately beside the Wasserfallen stop. The Heidi Stübli is right next to the starting point. From here, the route leaves the mountain station area behind and climbs steadily across open slopes.
After just over one kilometre, the highest point is reached near Schattberg at around 1,150 m. The short circuit involves a total ascent of around 280 metres, making the first section correspondingly strenuous. The route then continues with gentler ups and downs through the open Jura landscape to Berghaus Vogelberg, which lies directly on the trail.
At Berghaus Vogelberg, the circuit turns back. It descends across open terrain and along wooded slopes, returning to Wasserfallen mountain station after just over two hours. The stop is immediately beside the finish.
