Winterwanderweg Rietbad

Do you fancy a relaxed winter hike with views of the Säntis Mountain? The idyllic path takes you through open terrain, along the Sunnehalbriet. As it is a short trail, you have enough time to rest on one of the benches, stop at the Loipenkafi café or make a detour to the sulphur spring.

The starting point is quickly reached from the Ennetbühl, Rietbad bus stop. The winter hike begins by the houses of Rietbad and soon emerges into open meadows. With only around 30 metres of ascent, the circuit remains almost level; the trail follows a gentle curve through the broad, rural landscape. Open meadows dominate the scenery between the two settlements, with no significant climbs.

At Boden, a few houses come back into view. Shortly afterwards, the route reaches its highest point at around 930 m, without any real ascent interrupting the steady pace. The winter hiking trail then turns back towards Rietbad. Crossing open ground and following the edge of the small settlement, it returns to the starting point at Ennetbühl, Rietbad after a total of around 2 km and half an hour.
