01/ Overview
The route
Up to seven mountain lakes can be discovered on this hike above Bellwald. The trail then climbs gently towards the Honeggerhorn, with a magnificent view of the Goms peaks along the "Unnera" irrigation channel.
The hike begins high above Bellwald at the Furggulti stop. The white-red-white-marked mountain path initially climbs across open slopes. Before long, it passes directly by Wirbulsee. The terrain then becomes increasingly rocky, and after a good two kilometres the route reaches its highest point at around 2,730 m.
The long descent now defines the character of the tour. The mountain path crosses barren upland terrain and open pastures, always with a great sense of space. Around halfway, Spilsee lies directly on the route and is an inviting spot for a break by the water. The path then steadily loses elevation without entirely shedding its alpine character. After a total of seven kilometres and just over two hours, the hike ends at Bellwald, Flesche. The Richinen stop is located immediately beside the destination.
