01/ Overview
The route
A short Jura hike through meadows and forest: from Le Péca, the route climbs near Chêtelat to around 810 m before descending to Châtillon in the Clos du Doubs.
From the Epauvillers, bif. sur Le Péca bus stop, it is just over 200 metres to the starting point at Le Péca. The hiking trail initially climbs between meadows and the edge of the forest. After just under a kilometre, Chez-le-Baron lies directly on the route; this is where the access trail towards Cabane du Chêtelat begins.
The route then continues through the forest, mostly away from the marked hiking trail network. Near Le Chêtelat, it climbs further without reaching the summit, which lies around 300 metres away. The highest point, at around 810 m, is reached after just over two kilometres. The trail then descends again, emerging from the forest onto open ground in places.
After around an hour, the short route ends in Châtillon in the Clos du Doubs. There is no public transport connection directly at the destination: the nearest stop, Montenol, école, is around one kilometre away.

How we check: We look up a live public transport connection from your starting point to the stop closest to the trailhead. If it ends further away, the nearest stop may be a cable car or bus that isn't running right now.
How we check: Snow depth estimated daily at the lowest and the highest point of the route. Estimates: check the situation on site.
