Alpenweg Davos

A high and sunny alpine tour with panoramic views of mountain ranges and the area of Davos. With great variety of alpine flora you come past the historical Hotel Schatzalp with its Alpinum.

The 23-kilometre hike begins at Höhenweg station, already at its highest point at around 2,220 m. Almost the entire route follows mountain paths. It initially crosses open terrain towards Schatzalp, where the Panorama Restaurant lies directly on the route.

This is followed by a long stretch of steady ups and downs across alpine pastures. At Erbalp, the path passes the mountain inn; a little later, Stafelalp lies close by. Despite the considerable overall descent, the route still involves around 880 metres of ascent. The open landscape gradually gives way to forest before the houses of Chummeralp are reached.

In the final third, the descent towards the valley continues. In Davos Glaris, the route passes the Reformed Church of St Nicholas, which is protected as a cantonal monument. After just under seven hours, the hike ends at the Rinerhorn cable car, with Davos Glaris railway station only a few steps farther on.
