01/ Overview
The route
This easy circular route leads around the superb Davosersee lake, always with wonderful views of the water, the valley and the magnificent Graubunden mountains. A worthwhile visit for every nature lover.
The five-kilometre circuit starts at Davos Dorf railway station and involves only around 50 metres of ascent. The yellow-marked hiking trail soon leaves the built-up area behind, alternating between open meadows and stretches of woodland. With no long climbs, it continues towards Davosersee. The highest point, at just under 1,600 m, is reached roughly halfway around.
Near the SeeCafé, the water takes centre stage. Davosersee lies at the north-eastern end of the Davos high valley, with the Seehorn rising above it. The landscape opens up along the shore before the route re-enters the forest. In the Höhwald, a fire pit lies just a few steps from the trail.
The hiking trail then leads back between meadows and houses. After around 1¼ hours, Davos Dorf is reached once more. The circuit ends near the Flüelakreuzung bus stop and, thanks to the small elevation difference, is also suitable for a short day’s hike.
