Alpine Panorama Trail, Stage 18/29

Ein letzter Blick auf die eisgekrönten Berner Alpen, dann in den Schwarzwassergraben hinunter zur ältesten Betonbogenbrücke der Welt. Vom Schwarzenburger Plateau durch Wiesen und Wälder aufs aussichtsreiche Guggershörnli mit seinem berühmten Vreneli.

The roughly 17-kilometre hike begins at the Rüeggisberg, Post bus stop. Passing the church, the path leaves the village and continues across meadows and pastures. Stretches of woodland alternate with open farmland before Elisried is reached after a little over two hours, followed shortly afterwards by Schönentanne and its inn.

The yellow-marked hiking trail continues via Liseren to Schwarzenburg. Schloss Schwarzenburg stands directly on the route in the centre of the village. This 16th-century manor house is a listed monument of national importance. Beyond the houses, the surroundings become rural again; the long ascent now begins through woodland and across open slopes towards Guggershorn.

The path climbs more steeply over the final section. At Guggershorn, the route reaches its highest point at around 1'270 m. This distinctive conglomerate mountain with its striking summit rock rises to the north-east above Guggisberg, and the terrain around the viewpoint is rocky. A short descent finally leads to Guggisberg, where the hike ends near the Guggisberg, Post bus stop.
