From Münsingen to Thun, you usually hike directly along the course of the Aare, which still largely follows its traditional, straightened canal. The end of this stage leads to the station through the picturesque old town, via the Bälliz alley and two imposing lock bridges.

The hike begins at the Münsingen, Badi bus stop by the Schützenfahrbrügg. After a short ascent, the route reaches its highest point at around 570 m. The yellow-waymarked hiking trail then continues towards Jaberg through an alternating landscape of woodland, open meadows and quiet residential fringes.

Around halfway, the Seerosesee lies directly beside the route. Shortly afterwards, the trail follows the Aare for a stretch. The next section is dominated by the Chandergrienwald, before the surroundings become increasingly urban around Kaliforni and Aarefeld.

Towards the end, Thun comes into view. The castle rises above the town, while the route continues to the shore of Lake Thun. A short while later, the 17-kilometre hike ends at Thun railway station after just over four hours. With only around 240 metres of ascent, the profile remains gentle, although the distance still requires some stamina.
