Trans Swiss Trail, Stage 11/32

Typical Emmental landscape starting above Worb: long rolling hills and steep gullies. Fantastic views of the Alps and Jura. The Gotthelf-Stube, a tiny museum on Swiss author Jeremias Gotthelf is found in the old part of Lützelflüh.

From Worb Dorf railway station, the yellow-marked hiking trail leaves the built-up area and climbs across open meadows and pastures. Stretches of woodland provide a peaceful change of scenery along the way. At Rüttihubelbad, the route continues towards Wikartswil before gaining more height. Shortly before Mänziwilegg, Restaurant Mänziwileggli stands just a few steps off the route; the ascent continues over the pass.

In the forest, the route reaches its highest point at around 930 m, near Lüüseberg. From here, the trail initially descends to Aetzrütti, then continues through the hilly landscape in a long series of ups and downs. Open pastures, occasional belts of woodland and small settlements characterise this section. Towards the end, the route descends via Schafhausen to Goldbach. The final metres lead down into the valley to Lützelflüh-Goldbach railway station. Around five hours should be allowed for the approximately 18 kilometres.
