Alpine Panorama Trail, Stage 23/29

The route to Vevey from Les Paccots crosses the border from Fribourg into the canton of Vaud. It is also a walk full of new discoveries: the magnificently preserved Lac des Joncs, the Fégire footbridge (marking the border between the cantons) and enchanting views over the Prealps and Lake Geneva, as well as local culinary specialities.

The roughly six-hour hike through the Fribourg Pre-Alps begins at the Les Paccots, Ermitage stop. The yellow-waymarked hiking trail leaves the houses of Les Paccots behind and climbs across open meadows, past Restaurant L’Automate and through long stretches of forest.

After a little over seven kilometres, the route reaches its highest point at around 1,250 m, below the panoramic summit of Les Pléiades. The summit itself lies off the route. The long descent begins at Lally; shortly afterwards, the Le Grillet CAS hut stands directly on the route. The trail continues across pastures and through forest to Restaurant Le Signal, then descends to Blonay.

With the first houses, the surroundings become increasingly village-like. The trail passes through Saint-Légier-La Chiésaz, enters the Bois Baron once more and continues to lose elevation. It then leads via Jongny and Chardonne to Vevey (Corseaux). The Corseaux stop is just a few steps from the end of the route.
