Sentier panoramique des Paccots

This four-hour circular walk starting in Les Paccots offers magnificent panoramic views – between the sky and the land. The route provides a breathtaking view over the Alps, the pastures and slopes of the Fribourg Alps, while in the distance, the blue of the sky seems to merge into Lake Geneva.

The circular route starts at the Les Paccots, Les Rosalys bus stop and heads straight into the Fribourg Pre-Alps. Initially, the yellow-waymarked hiking trail passes through a residential area and soon reaches Lac des Joncs. This small mountain lake adds a tranquil note before the ascent steepens noticeably through forest and across open pastures. On the slopes near Le Barlattey, the route reaches its highest point at around 1,580 m.

The terrain then opens up again. Via Paccot-Dessus and Grand Pra, the trail crosses pastureland before sections of forest bring a distinct change of scenery towards the end. Yellow waymarks guide the entire hike. The long return loop alternates between open slopes and forest on the way back towards Les Rosalys. After around 13 kilometres and approximately 700 metres of ascent, the route closes the circle at the starting point. A good four hours should be allowed for the circuit.
