Alpine Panorama Trail, Stage 24/29

A pleasant hike through the steep Lavaux vineyards, a UNESCO World Heritage since 2007. Along the way you meet the old traditional wine villages of St-Saphorin, Rivaz and Epesses, and the lovely little towns of Cully and Lutry on Lac Léman.

From the Corseaux bus stop, the waymarked hiking trail initially leads out of the built-up area. The first ascent soon brings the route to its highest point, at around 500 m. It then continues across open slopes and through Saint-Saphorin to Rivaz. The alternation between open countryside and compact villages also characterises the section via Epesses to Cully. At Port de Moratel, the route comes right up close to Lake Geneva for the first time.

Beyond Cully, the trail once again runs slightly above the shore through Grandvaux and Villette. From here on, the lake defines the character of the hike. Via Lutry and Paudex, the route gradually approaches the urban area of Lausanne. Shortly before the destination, the neo-Gothic ruins of Tour Haldimand stand directly beside the lake. After around 19 kilometres and just over five hours, the hike ends in Ouchy; the Lausanne, Ouchy-Olympique stop is only a few steps away.
