01/ Overview
The route
Leaving the traffic congestion of the built-up area along the lake shore, the hiking path swings into the flat hinterland between Lac Lèman and the Jura, with sleepy villages, old castles, sparkling streams, airy oak woods and cultivated fields.
From the Nyon bus stop, the hiking trail leads out of the town. Before long, the edges of residential areas alternate with open meadows and fields. At Bois-Bougy, the route passes close to the castle. Along the way, views towards Lake Geneva open up in places, while the trail crosses the gently rolling hinterland without any major climbs.
Crans VD is reached about halfway along the route. Beyond it, farmland and short stretches of woodland once again characterise the peaceful trail to Céligny. The church stands directly on the route; shortly afterwards, the trail continues towards Petit-Bossey. The highest point, at around 470 m, comes only shortly before the destination. After a total of 9 km and just over two hours, the hike ends in Bogis-Bossey. The bus stop of the same name is just a few minutes’ walk from the endpoint.
