01/ Overview
The route
A short, leisurely tour through Marbach: from the mountain cheese dairy along the streams, with a detour to the Lourdes Grotto and, to finish, coffee, dessert and shopping at Liäblingsstück.
From the Marbachegg, Talstation bus stop, the short tour begins at the Marbach tourist office. The mountain cheese dairy is right beside the route at the outset, where brunch in the bistro can be combined with some shopping. The route then passes through the village, initially following the Schonbach before switching to the Steiglenbach.
The trail now climbs out of the built-up area into open meadows. It follows the Way of the Cross with its 14 stations to the Lourdes Grotto, which makes a worthwhile short detour. Nearby, the route reaches its highest point at around 900 m; with a total ascent of roughly 50 metres, the climb remains gentle.
The route then returns to the houses of Marbach and ends after just under three kilometres at Liäblingsstück Marbach. Coffee and dessert are planned there, along with shopping opportunities across three floors. The Marbach LU, Dorf bus stop is just under 100 m away.

Current conditions
What to know before you set off. Closures and snow are re-checked every day.
How we check: Every night we match the route against the official closures and detours from the Federal Roads Office (FEDRO). Any reported closure that touches the route shows up here.
How we check: We look up a live public transport connection from your starting point to the stop closest to the trailhead. If it ends further away, the nearest stop may be a cable car or bus that isn't running right now.
How we check: Snow depth estimated daily at the lowest and the highest point of the route. Estimates: check the situation on site.
