01/ Overview
The route
Treat yourself to a breath of fresh air and a long ride on this 5km sledge run that connects the panoramic restaurant of La Creusaz and the village of Les Marécottes. This gentle path criss-crosses the forest.
The sledging trail begins at around 1,775 m, directly by the La Creusaz stop and close to Pointe du Djoua. Its highest point is therefore right at the start. From the houses of La Creusaz, the route heads downhill, descending around 660 metres over five kilometres. A little over an hour should be allowed for the descent.
Forest characterises much of the route, interspersed with open meadows and pastures. As the start and finish are also the highest and lowest points respectively, the route follows a clear overall descent. Farther down, the first houses of Les Marécottes draw closer. On the final section, the sledging trail descends to around 1,120 m. The finish is directly by the Les Marécottes (télécabine) stop, on the edge of the village.

03/ Conditions
Current conditions
What to know before you set off. Closures and snow are re-checked every day.
How we check: Every night we match the route against the official closures and detours from the Federal Roads Office (FEDRO). Any reported closure that touches the route shows up here.
Sledding is more fun in the snow! Check local conditions before heading out.
How we check: SLF only publishes its snow maps from November 1. Until then we roughly estimate the snow depth at the lowest and the highest point of the route every day from the nearest SLF measuring stations. Check the situation on site.
