01/ Overview
The route
Dashing through the snow-covered Bois du Bilioley forest on a sledge and enjoying the view of the Dents du Midi, the Mont Blanc massif, lake Geneva and the Rhone plain - that's what the Col de Soud-Villars sledge run is all about. The exciting route leads along the Col de Soud mountain range and ends in the village of Villars-sur-Ollon.
From the Col-de-Soud stop, it is only a few steps to the start of the sledging route. The Auberge Col de Soud is also close by. Initially, the route climbs gently, reaching its highest point at around 1'550 m after just under 500 metres. The actual descent then begins.
It covers a total of two kilometres and descends around 170 metres. Forest characterises the first section before the terrain gradually opens up and meadows line the route. Villars-sur-Ollon is reached after a little over half an hour. The Colonges stop is just under 200 metres away; the sledge run itself ends at Roches Grises.

03/ Conditions
Current conditions
What to know before you set off. Closures and snow are re-checked every day.
How we check: Every night we match the route against the official closures and detours from the Federal Roads Office (FEDRO). Any reported closure that touches the route shows up here.
How we check: We look up a live public transport connection from your starting point to the stop closest to the trailhead. If it ends further away, the nearest stop may be a cable car or bus that isn't running right now.
Sledding is more fun in the snow! Check local conditions before heading out.
How we check: Snow depth estimated daily at the lowest and the highest point of the route. Estimates: check the situation on site.
