01/ Overview

The route

This piste is located in the area of Savoleyres and is the longest sledge run in French-speaking Switzerland. Thrills are guaranteed on this run between Savoleyres and La Tzoumaz which has a drop in altitude of 834 metres – thanks to hairpin bends in the middle of the forest.

The toboggan run starts at Savoleyres station, just over 100 m from the actual starting point. At around 2,330 m, this is also the highest point of the route. From the start, the first bends lead across open terrain. The descent then heads towards Croix de Coeur, although it remains a good 200 m from the pass. Restaurant Savoleyres is also slightly off the route.

The toboggan run then steadily loses altitude. At first, broad open slopes dominate the scenery; further down, the first houses alternate with stretches of forest. Towards the end, the forest increasingly closes in on the route before the houses of La Tzoumaz become more closely spaced. Over a total distance of around five kilometres, the route descends almost 800 metres; just over an hour should be allowed for the run. The final bends lead into the village and the finish at around 1,530 m, just a few steps from La Tzoumaz station.

03/ Conditions

Current conditions

What to know before you set off. Closures and snow are re-checked every day.

  • How we check: Every night we match the route against the official closures and detours from the Federal Roads Office (FEDRO). Any reported closure that touches the route shows up here.

  • How we check: We look up a live public transport connection from your starting point to the stop closest to the trailhead. If it ends further away, the nearest stop may be a cable car or bus that isn't running right now.

  • Sledding is more fun in the snow! Check local conditions before heading out.

How we check: Snow depth estimated daily at the lowest and the highest point of the route. Estimates: check the situation on site.
