Circuito Dongio-Motto

The circuit is located in the southern part of the municipality of Acquarossa, in the middle of the Valle di Blenio, a flat expanse surrounded by impressive rough and jagged reliefs with emotional impact: a particular atmosphere that unites noteworthy natural and cultural qualities.

From the Dongio, Municipio bus stop, the seven-kilometre circuit initially leads through the village and out into open countryside. Long sections lie outside the marked hiking trail network, so some care with navigation is required along the way. Meadows and scattered settlements shape the landscape.

After the first gentle ascent, the trail passes the Chiesa di San Remigio near Boscero. Shortly afterwards, the highest point is reached at around 500 m. The terrain remains largely flat, with short sections of marked hiking trail alternating with unmarked paths. The route thus leads through the surroundings of the small villages without any significant climbs.

On the return leg, the Chiesa dei Santi Luca e Fiorenzo stands directly beside the route. The trail then continues via Marogno and Motto before turning back towards Dongio. After just over an hour and a half, the hike ends near the Dongio, Municipio bus stop.
