Circuito Dongio-Satro

An excursion that unfolds in the municipality of Acquarossa (in the middle of the Valle di Blenio), on the banks of the Brenno river through wetlands of great natural beauty. An area of great landscape and cultural importance, with typical local gastronomic and artisanal products.

The approximately seven-kilometre circular hike begins at the Dongio, Municipio bus stop. Right at the start, the route passes the Chiesa dei Santi Luca e Fiorenzo before leaving the village. The first section runs partly outside the marked hiking trail network, so careful route-finding is required. It then crosses open countryside to Boscero, where the Chiesa di San Remigio stands directly beside the route.

The trail then follows the yellow waymarks. Meadows, small settlements and stretches of woodland alternate, with no major climbs. Before Acquarossa, the route passes the Ristorante Stazione and shortly afterwards reaches its highest point at around 540 m. From here, it sweeps back towards Dongio in a wide arc.

Towards the end, the forest once again closes in around the trail. By the Oratorio di San Giovanni, the village has already been reached again. After just under two hours, the circuit ends not far from the Dongio, Municipio bus stop.
