01/ Overview
The route
Away from the huge winter destinations Degersheim offers a long and scenically attractive cross-country skiing trail. This also includes a unique view far beyond Lake Constance and the city boundaries.
The trail begins at Hotel Wolfensberg above Degersheim. The nearest public transport stop, Degersheim, Wolfhag, is around 700 metres away. Right from the start, the circuit climbs across open terrain. After around one and a half kilometres, it reaches its highest point at just over 900 m near Züblisnase. From there, broad meadows alternate with shorter stretches of woodland.
With steady ups and downs, the trail continues to Baldenwil before descending to the lowest section of the circuit. At Moos, roughly half of the route, which takes just under five hours in total, has been completed. Via Moosbad, the trail climbs again and emerges into the open, rolling countryside. The final section brings several more gentle counter-climbs before the circuit closes near Wolfensberg. After 17 kilometres, the route finishes back at Hotel Wolfensberg; the Wolfhag stop is also around 700 metres away from here.
