Furner Rundweg

The hike offers an insight into a typical region once settled by the Walser people, with Furna, a dispersed settlement high above the Prättigau and its scattered homesteads, agriculture and forestry, and the Fadeuer as a rewarding panoramic mountain summit.

The approximately 14-kilometre circular hike starts at the Furna, Post bus stop. A good four and a half hours should be allowed for the roughly 700 metres of ascent. The climb begins between the houses. Soon the mountain trail emerges onto meadows and pastures, dipping into the forest in places. Around Höchstelli, the route gains height rapidly. Across the open slopes, Wannenspitz and Fadeuer appear close at hand, although the trail does not reach their summits.

After a good two hours, the mountain trail approaches the Fadeuer. Shortly afterwards, roughly halfway around the circuit, it reaches its highest point at just under 2'000 m. A long descent then leads back across alpine pastures and through sections of forest. One short stretch runs outside the marked hiking trail network before the mountain trail resumes. Towards the end, the route passes directly by the Gasthaus Hochwang. From there, it continues downhill to the first houses and back to the Furna, Post bus stop.
