01/ Overview
The route
A long high-level hike through the moorlands of the Entlebuch: from Glaubenbielen over the Sattelpass to Sewenseeli, then past Alpine pastures and a gorge, with a detour to the waterfall.
From the Glaubenbielen, Parkplatz PostBus stop, the hiking trail crosses Alpine pastures and the moorlands of the UNESCO Biosphere Entlebuch. Raised bogs, transitional mires and fens characterise the first section as far as the Sattelpass. The route then climbs again, reaching its highest point near Trogenegg at around 1,800 m; one short section is unmarked. When firing exercises are taking place, parts of the Glaubenberg/Wasserfallen area may be closed.
The long descent begins at Sewenseeli. Above the lake stands a chapel with benches and far-reaching views, followed shortly afterwards by Sewen. The route continues across open Alpine pastures and increasingly through woodland to the Stäldeli Alpine farm restaurant. Farther down, a suspension bridge crosses high above the Chessloch gorge; a short detour leads to the Chessiloch waterfall.
The mountain trail now loses height rapidly before a hiking trail leads via Bunihus and Hüttlenen to the first houses of Flühli. After a good six hours, the hike ends in the village centre, a few steps from the Flühli LU, Post PostBus stop.

Current conditions
What to know before you set off. Closures and snow are re-checked every day.
How we check: Every night we match the route against the official closures and detours from the Federal Roads Office (FEDRO). Any reported closure that touches the route shows up here.
How we check: We look up a live public transport connection from your starting point to the stop closest to the trailhead. If it ends further away, the nearest stop may be a cable car or bus that isn't running right now.
How we check: Snow depth estimated daily at the lowest and the highest point of the route. Estimates: check the situation on site.
