Goldauer Bergsturzspur

An attractive hike through the landslide area of Goldau with lovely views of Lake Lauerz. The village of Goldau, including its Nature Reserve and Wildlife Park, and an amazing highlight for botany buffs are all located on the accumulated scree. The area is known for its abundance of rare orchids.

From Arth-Goldau railway station, it is only a few steps to the starting point in Goldau. The circular route, which takes just over three hours, begins among the houses before entering the forest. The yellow-waymarked hiking trail climbs steadily, with around 600 metres of ascent over the entire circuit. At the Herzig viewpoint, the forest opens up to reveal views of the surrounding area.

Higher up, stretches of forest alternate with open meadows and pastures. About halfway along, the route reaches its highest point at just under 1,100 m. The Rossbergzahn lies near this upper section, but well away from the trail and is not climbed. A long descent then leads through the forest back to the edge of Goldau. Shortly before the end, the small Blauweiher lies just a few steps off the route. From there, the hiking trail passes through the last houses and returns to Arth-Goldau railway station.
