01/ Overview
The route
Ten stations tell the story of 2,500 years of village history. The roughly ten-kilometre themed trail leads from the village stream up into the open countryside around Büron.
From the Büron, Dorf bus stop, it is only a few steps to the municipal offices and the start of the Curiosity Walk. The route initially passes through Büron and follows the village stream. At ten historical stations, QR codes provide access to texts, images and twenty short audio plays featuring authentic sounds from Büron. The Catholic Church of St Gallus and Urban also stands directly beside the route.
After the lower part of the village and Bifangpark, the route gradually leaves the built-up area behind. Meadows and pastures now dominate the landscape, interspersed with short stretches of woodland. For long sections, the paths run away from the marked hiking trail network. In videos and audio recordings, contemporary witnesses recount village life, farming and local clubs; further stations explore the witch trials and artists from Büron.
In the second half, the trail climbs more noticeably. Near Stierenberg, the circuit reaches its highest point at around 690 m. It then descends again to the houses of Büron, returning to the Büron municipal offices after a little over three hours.

03/ Conditions
Current conditions
What to know before you set off. Closures and snow are re-checked every day.
How we check: Every night we match the route against the official closures and detours from the Federal Roads Office (FEDRO). Any reported closure that touches the route shows up here.
How we check: We look up a live public transport connection from your starting point to the stop closest to the trailhead. If it ends further away, the nearest stop may be a cable car or bus that isn't running right now.
How we check: Snow depth estimated daily at the lowest and the highest point of the route. Estimates: check the situation on site.
