01/ Overview
The route
This short village walk leads from the town hall past historic buildings and fountains and out to the open edge of the village. Almost imperceptibly, the route climbs to just under 500 m before returning to the centre.
The S9 runs to Hochdorf; from the station, the town hall is just a few minutes away on foot. The historic walk begins here, initially climbing gently between the houses. The route lies largely outside the marked hiking trail network and, after just over half a kilometre, reaches its highest point near Kirchplatz at just under 500 m.
A few steps further on, the Peter-Halter-Brunnen and the Muttergotteskapelle stand directly beside the route. Fountains and historic buildings set the theme for this village walk. The path then descends again and leads through the residential area to Lunapark.
Further along, the houses recede in places and meadows open up along the short stretch at the edge of the village. With no significant climbs, the circuit turns back towards the centre. The station is also only around 150 metres from the finish. Finally, the route leads back between the houses of Hochdorf to the town hall.

03/ Conditions
Current conditions
What to know before you set off. Closures and snow are re-checked every day.
How we check: Every night we match the route against the official closures and detours from the Federal Roads Office (FEDRO). Any reported closure that touches the route shows up here.
How we check: We look up a live public transport connection from your starting point to the stop closest to the trailhead. If it ends further away, the nearest stop may be a cable car or bus that isn't running right now.
How we check: Snow depth estimated daily at the lowest and the highest point of the route. Estimates: check the situation on site.
