01/ Overview
The route
Seventeen carved figures tell a story in the Chilchwäldli woodland. This short circular walk from Ufhusen combines open meadows, forest and a barbecue area that is free to use.
From the Ufhusen, Käserei Dorf bus stop, it is only a few steps to the rifle clubhouse, where the clockwise-signposted circular trail begins. It initially skirts the houses of Ufhusen before crossing meadows and open countryside. Along the way, seventeen carved wooden figures line the trail, accompanied by a story. Just before the halfway point, the route reaches its highest point at around 720 m.
The route then enters the Chilchwäldli woodland. A longer section runs outside the marked hiking trail network but remains part of the signposted themed trail. More figures await among the trees before the Chilchwäldli barbecue area offers a place to rest; it is free to use. Over the final few metres, the trail leaves the forest again and climbs gently back to the Ufhusen rifle clubhouse.

How we check: Every night we match the route against the official closures and detours from the Federal Roads Office (FEDRO). Any reported closure that touches the route shows up here.
How we check: We look up a live public transport connection from your starting point to the stop closest to the trailhead. If it ends further away, the nearest stop may be a cable car or bus that isn't running right now.
How we check: Snow depth estimated daily at the lowest and the highest point of the route. Estimates: check the situation on site.
