Horneggli-Panoramaweg

It is not for nothing that this tour is called the Panorama Route. All along the way you have fascinating views of the distinctive Gstaad mountains with the Rüebli or the Gummfluh and the massif of the North Chain of the Alps.

The hike starts at the Rinderberg stop above Zweisimmen, by the Rinderberg-Spitz mountain restaurant. The mountain trail initially climbs briefly, reaching its highest point at around 2'080 m near Hindere Spitz after just a few minutes. It then follows the ridge across open Alpine pastures. By Parwengebire, the first major descent has already been completed, without the route losing its sweeping high-level character.

The white-red-white waymarked trail continues in a steady series of ascents and descents to Alp Parwenge. Meadows and pastures dominate the scenery as the path gradually descends towards Hornberg. Berghotel Hornberg stands directly on the route and is a convenient place to stop before the final section, while the reservoir lies a little off the trail.

Towards the end, the mountain trail once again crosses open terrain around the rocky Hornfluh. After a total of six kilometres and just under two hours, the hike ends above Schönried at the Horneggli stop.
