Lenker Rundweg

At the top of the Simmental valley is Lenk, a hiking paradise suitable for all where this circular trail starts. It leads through the popular mountain village of Lenk past the idyllic Lenkerseeli lake, the AlpKultur playground and through a peaceful stretch of woodland. The breathtaking mountain panorama will be your constant companion along the way.

From the Lenk, Marktplatz bus stop, the six-kilometre circuit initially leads through the village. It passes the Mauritiuskapelle, built in 1938/39 thanks to a charitable foundation, and soon reaches the Lenkerseeli. The path runs directly beside the lake, whose shore is also home to the large public playground. Beyond here, the houses recede, giving way to open meadows and occasional stretches of woodland.

With no significant ascent, the waymarked hiking trail continues across the valley floor. At 1'083 m, the highest point is reached after around two and a half kilometres, barely perceptible in this flat terrain. In the second half, the Simme accompanies the route back towards Lenk. Its course now sets the line as built-up areas alternate with open spaces. After around one and a half hours, the circuit closes back in the village; from the end point, the bus stop at Marktplatz is only a few steps away.
