Siebenbrunnen-Weg

The hike to the Simmen waterfalls, to the "seven fountains", and on via Langermatte to Iffigenalp is one of the most popular in Lenk. It takes the visitors to the most beautiful water spectacles of the Simmen valley and offers a magnificent view of the surrounding mountains and the village of Lenk.

The roughly eight-kilometre ascent to Iffigenalp begins at the Lenk, Simmenfälle bus stop. Initially, the hiking trail follows the Simme upstream, passing close to the Simmenfälle. Between Siebenbrünnen and the valley floor, the young Simme plunges through the forest in a series of cascades.

After the easy opening section, the trail becomes more alpine in character. A white-red-white-marked mountain trail climbs steadily through the forest and later across open meadows and pastures. In total, around 820 metres of ascent must be tackled. After a little over two hours, the route reaches its highest point at just under 1,860 m. Shortly afterwards, the trail passes Langermatte.

Towards the end, the route loses elevation again. The mountain trail gives way to an easier hiking trail that descends across open slopes to Iffigenalp. After a little over three hours, the hike ends at the Lenk, Iffigenalp bus stop.
