01/ Overview
The route
Red signposts lead through Brunnen and Ingenbohl to chapels, cultural landmarks and traces of the villages’ history. Along the way, views open up across Lake Lucerne.
The short cultural trail begins at the Brunnen, See/Schiffstation bus stop and leads through the village centre. Red signs point the way to the individual stops, with an accompanying brochure providing further information. The Federal Chapel stands beside the trail near the start. Shortly afterwards, the route reaches the shore of Lake Lucerne, whose widely branching basins are surrounded by Alpine foothills.
After the Föhnhafen, the circular route continues through the residential areas of Brunnen and Ingenbohl. Along the way, information panels recount the villages’ history and notable figures, as well as historic buildings, objects and relics. At the Theresienkirche, the trail continues between the houses. Farther on, Restaurant Mostrose and the Nothelferkapelle stand directly along the route.
In the final third, the trail climbs almost imperceptibly to its highest point at just over 460 m near Bützi. It then descends back to the lake. At Seerestaurant Bellevue and the photo spot, views open up across the water once again before the circuit ends after just under five kilometres in the village centre by the lake and boat station.

Current conditions
What to know before you set off. Closures and snow are re-checked every day.
How we check: Every night we match the route against the official closures and detours from the Federal Roads Office (FEDRO). Any reported closure that touches the route shows up here.
How we check: We look up a live public transport connection from your starting point to the stop closest to the trailhead. If it ends further away, the nearest stop may be a cable car or bus that isn't running right now.
How we check: Snow depth estimated daily at the lowest and the highest point of the route. Estimates: check the situation on site.
