01/ Overview
The route
The cross-country ski trail in Degen is located at the eastern edge of the village near the freestanding chapel of Sogn Bistgaun. The trail first meanders over a meadow; flat parts alternating with small uphill and downhill sections. The mountain backdrop along the way includes Péz Terri, Péz Regina and Pala da Tgiern.
The start of the short trail is just a few steps from the Degen, vitg bus stop. It initially runs past the village and out onto the open meadows around Degen. The terrain remains gentle, with small undulations rather than prolonged climbs.
The lowest point of the circuit comes halfway round, after which the route gradually climbs again. Towards the end, it reaches its highest point at around 1'140 m. After a total of 4 km and just over an hour, the trail leads back to Degen, where the bus stop is again close to the finish.

03/ Conditions
Current conditions
What to know before you set off. Closures and snow are re-checked every day.
How we check: Every night we match the route against the official closures and detours from the Federal Roads Office (FEDRO). Any reported closure that touches the route shows up here.
How we check: We look up a live public transport connection from your starting point to the stop closest to the trailhead. If it ends further away, the nearest stop may be a cable car or bus that isn't running right now.
Cross-country skiing is more fun in the snow! Check local conditions before heading out.
How we check: Snow depth estimated daily at the lowest and the highest point of the route. Estimates: check the situation on site.
